I never expected to be living with A.L.S (Lou Gehrig's). It has been an amazing 7 year journey. I’m an artist and when my arms no longer worked, I began painting with my foot. Being able to make art has opened the world to me it kept me from being isolated and focused on my survival. Living with ALS has opened up my world not only through the arts but through my caregivers who have come from around the world. From Ghana from Malawi from Costa Rica from Trinidad from Italy from the Philippines and the rural parts of of the US. In many ways it has been a gift to have this health condition it has opened up my life and in many unexpected positive and beautiful ways.
