I never expected my sister, Tinesha to impact so many lives. Tinesha overcame so many obstacles that being diagnosed with Down Syndrome and hole in her heart. She underwent heart surgery at a very young age. The doctors said that Tinesha would never walk and have a full life. Tinesha could do anything she put her mind to. She graduated from high school, worked, loved people, was artistic, she could read and write, loved music and danced. She was involved in Special Olympics. She passed away from Covid-19 in 2020. Tinesha lived to be 30 years old which is beyond the age that doctors told my parents that she would live. Since her passing people that knew her talk about how she gave them hope or brighten their day. Her life was full and was an example that individuals with Down syndrome can live full lives.
