I never expected…
I never expected to be beating cancer at 84, during a pandemic! A little over a year ago I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer, and the future was uncertain. When Covid hit, my family and I were now dealing with a whole new set of difficulties. We all feared the risk of me being exposed to Covid, but also knew I needed support and love from family. It was a struggle to not hug or be hugged for fear of exposure. They couldn't come into the hospital with me to be a support or hold my hand. Because of Covid they were also not allowed at the hospital the day of my big surgery. But they surprised me, at the door with an Irish flag and beautiful signs to cheer me on! Surgery was a success, my strength AND my hair is starting to grow now! I know that is thanks to the love and support of my strong family!GRA
