I never expected that everything I'd learn in life, I learned in Columbus, Ohio. While currently in Florida, my work is now based in LA for a new museum set to open later this year. I lived in NYC for 7 years before spending 6 wonderful years in Columbus. What made it wonderful and fantastic? It's not just a "food taste testing city". Columbus is filled with amazing and onward thinking mindsets and voracious creatives and its sense of community, to me, runs deep. I still feel part of the community even though many opportunities to stay connected are all virtual. If anything, it has made life with this community more accessible and continuing to me. There's this fantastic sense of "let's try something" in Columbus without the coastal city judgement and there's room to make mistakes and learn from them, too.
