I was raised to believe I am no better than anyone else and no one is better than me. My father was full of wisdom that for some reason I appreciate more now in my sixties. He taught me if I look to the right I will see someone with more than I have and if I look to the left I will see someone with less than I have. The key to life is to be happy with what you have. Both my parents taught me to be truthful. When I grew up if I told the truth I didn't get punished, if I lied I did get punished. They also pointed out how the truth is easier. You don't have to remember who you told what to. It's sad that many of these basic lessons are not being taught today.
