My parent(s) wanted me to…
My parent(s) wanted me tosurvive in what they had experienced as a cruel and unfair world. During WW2, my father was in concentration camps as a Polish Jew and my mother survived many deprivations as a Czech Catholic. They were immigrants to this country and did not want me to suffer as they had. They taught me to stand on my own two feet and not depend on anyone else for answers or solutions. I have always supported myself, with money left over to try to bribe myself out of a war zone. I have stayed fit enough to survive physical challenges of a war. I am grateful for every day that I have (1) a roof over my head, clean sheets, warm showers, a full refrigerator, and (2) no one trying to kill or control me. I have been blessed because my hard work has resulted in safety from harm.
