My parent(s) wanted me to…
My parent(s) wanted me tobe straight, Republican, Christian, and happy. The reality is that there is no truth in any of those. I’m a depressed, pansexual, left-winged, agnostic girl who has different views. It hurts when they say stuff like, “We need to fix you,” and, “You can find a girl pretty but you don’t like her.” If you think I’m a good age to know that I’m straight, then why is this too “young” of an age to know I’m not? If you think I’m a good age to know my religion, why isn’t it a good age to know that I don’t want to be religious? If you think I’m at a good age to believe Republican political views, why is it that if I’m more democratic I’m just “too young to understand?” I understand clearly that we may have different views but I respect yours and you should respect mine.
