The tradition I carry on is welcoming the Sabbath with something delicious to eat. Sabbath was a time where we got to reflect on the goodness of God and spend time with friends and family. Friday afternoon, my mom would make pillow-soft cinnamon rolls in preparation for sundown. They were incredible, and made us really look forward to the Sabbath. It was amazing how something as simple as a homemade dish brought us together and made us want to share stories about our week. Now, my husband and I have our own tradition: vegetarian hot dogs. Making hotdogs together is so fun and special to us, even though its simple. It feels great to exhale after a crazy week and to spend some time together soaking in all the things we have to be thankful for.
