My American story started when I came to the U.S from a refugee camp in West Africa at age 16. I've been a Registered Nurse for 17 years. 2014, I deployed to Liberia, West Africa in response to the Ebola virus epidemic, and I worked as a nurse caring for Ebola patients for 6 weeks. I was quarantined for 21 days when I returned in 2015. I am blessed to return to my children and family alive and well. Now, with COVID-19, I am volunteering to deploy to anywhere to care for patients and give relief to my colleagues who are already serving. I am convicted that nursing is my calling and that disaster response is my way of continuing the healing ministry of Jesus Christ my maker. The brutal civil war in Liberia, thought me to be selfless.
