My American story started when my mother, Amelia, met my father, Jose, in the Philippines. When my brothers and I were just kids, we moved to the United States in 1970. Soon after my younger twin sisters were born in the States.
We were taught, we were born Filipinos but raised as Americans. We had to give back to the country that took care of us. My mother got her Master’s degree in Social Work and became a therapist, now retired. My two older brothers and I are 1st generation law enforcement officers. My youngest brother is a successful owner of a well respected Muay Thai school in his community. My two youngest twin sisters have very successful careers in the corporate world.
We've all continued the legacy my parents started. We are all a very intricate part of the American tapestry.
