Email share

We know that every day in the classroom you’ve got a seemingly endless list of tasks to perform and planning to do, with never enough time to get it all done. We want to help you use that limited time as efficiently as possible so have made some platform tweaks with that in mind.

All PBS LearningMedia resources are aligned to national and state curriculum standards. So as you are reviewing resources and making decisions about what will work best for your lessons, you can check for the specific standards that are aligned, but also click a button to see all the other resources that match those same curriculum standards. This is an easy and time-saving way to find similar resources to build a media-rich, engaging lesson.

Here are the steps to start filtering your searches by curriculum standards.

If you scroll down past the video on any resource page and click on the "Standards" tab, you can see how it aligns with nationwide curriculum standards. Once you are logged into your PBS LearningMedia account (sign up is free and as simple as providing your email address or clicking to use your Google profile) you can also see state standards for the same resource. Standards are grouped by grade so you can easily find the standards relevant for your learners.

Each standard also includes an anchor statement to put the standard you are viewing into greater context.

You can find more resources that are aligned to a specific standard by clicking “All Resources,” which brings you to a search results page with all of the resources that match the standard you are looking for. From here, you can filter further by resource type, video duration, grade band, and language in order to find the most relevant content for your classroom.

With just a few keystrokes you can simplify your lesson planning and build engaging lessons when you filter by standards on PBS LearningMedia!
