She obtained her teaching degree from Eastern Michigan University in 2015. She is currently pursuing her graduate degree from EMU in the Master's of Arts Reading program.

She is passionate about literacy, STEM, and social-emotional learning. At the heart of her teaching pedagogy is her belief that all youth should feel loved and that they matter. She created a digital YouTube series (Bright Futures @ Home) to maintain youth and family connections during the recent Covid-19 stay at home order in Michigan. She continues to pursue creative solutions to connect with and provide the families she serves with literacy, STEM, and social-emotional learning support.

Fun Fact: She is a rescue animal mom to a cat named Olly and a dog named Lance who are both often featured in her YouTube series!

Favorite PBS Character/Show: Sesame Street because it is made of “a community of puppets who work together and help the viewer feel loved and valued!”
