Can you say “dedicated educator” in different languages? Claudia Robles Arias can! Claudia is a native Spanish speaker from El Salvador who teaches Spanish through Spanish immersion. She is also learning American Sign Language and is learning to weave sign language into her classroom activities, just as she does in Spanish. She’s committed to teaching her students multiple languages and mixing new vocabulary words into everyday tasks and games. She takes pride in providing the warmth of her culture in her classroom to make her students feel loved. When asked about her work, Claudia shared, “My goal is to give kids a different view of the world and to help raise compassionate world citizens.” Working with Virginia Public Media she’ll do just that!
