Katherine teaches classical literature, but you might not guess that right away if you were to walk into her classroom. In addition to teaching ELA, she is also responsible for teaching students digital citizenship. She augments her instruction with technology and has witnessed collaboration grow tremendously between students. She describes her classroom as a community for sharing new tech features. “Students feel more connected through the technology use, more confident in the material, and increasingly competent in using technology with a purpose in their everyday education,” says Katherine.
Fun Fact: In Katherine’s classes, students often use FaceTime to communicate and collaborate.
