Mary strives to show her students that art can be, and is, for everybody. She is passionate about integrating art history and contemporary art into all of her classes through the use of visual note-taking. As an educator, she embraces the changing nature of education and technology. “Over time the tools change,” she explains. “We have to teach our students to navigate a variety of tools and the wealth of information that is hurled at them on a daily basis.” Teaching with technology is not about the tool, she says, but about adaptability.
Fun Fact: Mary is a working artist. Her primary medium is “cut paper drawings,” a practice inspired by the more than one thousand poems her husband wrote her before they were married.
