Regina Schaffer is a Technology Specialist for the Middletown Township School District. Her passion for integrating technology in learning for students has been an integral part of her evolution as a modern educator. She is an advocate for using technology to bridge the gaps that exist for many of our nation’s students. As a teacher, Regina used technology to support high standards in a learner centered classroom. Through the use of Problem Based Inquiry and Experiential models, Regina designed and facilitated technology infused learning experiences that provided students with real world context, while promoting the academic independence that nurtures them as lifelong learners. She was part of the team that brought Google Apps for Education to Middletown, NJ, and trained teachers, administrators, and parents district-wide, all while still in the classroom. She is part of a district level connected educator team that helps facilitate the district’s vision as they continue to evolve as a community of educators committed to preparing students for their future. Regina was recently selected as a National School Board Association's 20 to Watch, as well as a 2016 PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovator. She is a Google Certified Innovator, Common Sense Media Certified Teacher, Discovery Education DEN Star, Remind Connected Educator and a Brainpop Connected Educator.
