When Steven says it’s his aim to bring history to life, he’s not fooling around. In fact, it’s not unusual for students to walk into this self-proclaimed “history nerd’s” classroom, and find him dressed up as George Washington or a judge presiding over some famous historical court case. Steven doesn’t keep the costumes to himself; in a recent assignment, his students were challenged to use his green-screened, one-button studio to create a short historical film based on primary source research. “By taking historical events and incorporating technology, I am able to craft meaningful learning experiences,” says Steven.
Fun Fact: Bzz Bzz! Steven coaches his school’s National History Bee team. Over the past three years four of Steven's students have qualified to compete at the national level.
