JUVENAL
Juvenal on foreigners
"Now let me say something about that race that most appals me. I just can't stand our city full of Greeks. For too long now the East has dumped this scum into our beloved Tiber. Carrying with them their language and habits, their flutes and ridiculous stringed instruments. What a travesty! Foreigners just blown into Rome get a better deal than I do; I, who drew my first breath in the city."
(Juvenal, Satire III)
