PLINY THE YOUNGER
Pliny on his uncle, Pliny the Elder
"You marvel how my uncle could have written so many volumes when he was so busy. His enthusiasm was unbelievable and he would rise before the sun to pursue his studies by lamplight. Sometimes while working he would nod off and wake again. Still before dawn, he would go to the Emperor Vespasian, who also worked at night, and only then start his professional duties."
