educational background A description of the school(s) you attended and the degree(s) you received.
employee Someone who is paid to work for someone else, a company or an organization.
employer A person, company, or organization that employs people.
employment agency An employment agency is a business that will help you find a job. Some agencies charge for this service. Public agencies (your state's Employment Services) do not charge a fee.
employment objectives The position you want to achieve (with a company).
job interview A job interview is a personal meeting with an employer. During this meeting, the employer will ask questions about your training and experience.
job application A job application is a form that you fill out to give the employer information about yourself. It helps them to know if you are right for the job.
qualifications Each job requires certain skills, training, or experience. These are called qualifications.
reference References are the names of persons who know you and can tell an employer something about the kind of person you are, or about your work.
résumé A résumé gives a short history of your career and qualifications. It is more detailed information than you give on an application.
requirements Something that is necessary to have for a particular job. For example, some jobs require certain skills (typing, ability to speak two languages, etc...) or require a certain level of education or previous experience.
skills Things you have learned to do well that can be used in the job you apply for.
toolkit A toolkit is something that holds things (tools) that will help you in an activity. An example is an artist's toolkit, which holds things like paint, brushes, and other necessary things to do his job.
work history Your work history is all of the places you have worked before. You will need to write your work history on job applications and will usually be asked about it during a job interview.
