Meet the Bakers: Stuart

Originally from Devon, Stuart settled in Guildford after studying at music college there. For the last 16 years he has been in a band and despite not being signed to a big record company, the band formed their own and have released a number of albums and toured around Europe and as far as China.

Stuart started baking at a young age, watching his parents in the restaurant kitchen they owned. He is confident with most genres of baking including breads, tarts and cakes but it’s pastry that he struggles with, often resulting in “pastry rage” when it splits, much to his wife’s amusement. Stuart is fascinated by the science behind baking and enjoys trying different flavours combinations, especially middle eastern spices.
