Where are they now?

There are a lot of other things that are more important than basketball. Like my future, my relatives, and friends, family...all the people I love. There are things about the rez that I love. This is my home, where I come from. It's my life, so, I know I'm gonna come up, and... Beaver C'Bearing's still gonna be somebody. I just know. -Beaver C'Bearing

In 2003 the Chiefs played another outstanding season of basketball, placing third in the state championships. Here's what's happened to some members of the team featured in the film since shooting finished in October 2001.

Beaver C'Bearing Beaver C'Bearing continues to live on the Wind River Reservation and is working part-time at Wyoming Indian Elementary School as a tutor. Since the filming of CHIEFS, Beaver has spent much time as a new dad, after his girlfriend Leslie Underwood gave birth to their son, Khylan Leandre C'Bearing. Beaver also trained and became certified as a carpenter, a field in which he is currently seeking employment. Basketball remains a big part of Beaver's life, as he regularly plays competitively in a number of independent tournaments.

Tim Robinson Tim Robinson is living on the reservation and working at the Lander Valley Hospital as an operating room tech. Tim returned to the reservation after a challenging first year at Northwestern Community College in Powell, Wyoming. Now with an eye at becoming a certified nurse, Tim is both working at the hospital and taking night classes in science through Central Wyoming College. Tim continues to rodeo competitively and play basketball recreationally.

Al C'Bearing Al C'Bearing is currently in his second year on a basketball scholarship at Chadron State College in Nebraska, where he earned a 3.3 GPA in his first year as an education major. After red-shirting his first year, Al averaged six minutes per game in 2003, his first year of eligibility.

Gerry Redman Gerry Redman is living on the reservation, working as a math tutor at Riverton Jr. High, and attending Central Wyoming College, where he maintains a 3.1 GPA. In addition to continuing to learn traditional ways from his father, Gerry finds time to compete in independent basketball, hunt, fish, and spend time with his girlfriend of two years, Sheena.
