To honor the amazing filmmakers who have so inspired us in the past two decades, and to offer our amazing viewers &#8212; without whom we wouldn&#8217;t have a reason to exist &#8212; a gift of gratitude, we&#8217;re launching a summer film festival!<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mJNwCFL-jvo\" width=\"560\" height=\"349\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-size: 12px; line-height: 18px;\"><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-size: 16px; line-height: 24px;\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/itvs.org\/indies-showcase\/films\">ITVS Indies Showcase is a free online film festival<\/a> featuring a succession of 20 unforgettable documentaries July 25 to September 23.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nWe&#8217;re fortunate to be able to honor the extraordinary contributions of independent filmmakers to public television. Each full-length program will stream free for three days as part of ITVS Indies Showcase, where viewers will also find a timeline of ITVS&#8217;s history, film trailers, clips, interviews, an audience award contest, and more.<br \/>\nThe ITVS Indies Showcase line-up represents a sample of the 1,000-plus productions ITVS has supported as the country&#8217;s leading provider of independent films for public broadcasting.<br \/>\nTune in for the first film, the Oscar-nominated <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.itvs.org\/films\/daughter-from-danang\">Daughter from Danang<\/a><\/em> (which originally aired on <em>American Experience<\/em> in 2003) on Monday, July 25!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our parent organization, the Independent Television Service (ITVS), is celebrating its 20th anniversary!
