SMLE Rifle - Lawrence markings		Appreciating the significance, Lawrence carved his name and the date into the gun: 'TEL 4.12.16', the British Army service rifle was once again in the hands of an Englishman. Lawrence carried that rifle through the next two years of the desert campaign which saw him travel the length and breadth of Syria and Jordan.
