Vocalists from the Quantico Marine Band
The Band is staffed to perform ceremonial, marching, and concert functions for Military and Community Relations (COMREL) events. Supporting patriotic gatherings from big cities to small towns, the band is often featured at Military Marching Tattoos, celebratory parades, sports broadcasts, and many hundreds of military ceremonies a year. Smaller events are no less important to the story of the Corps, and the Band can also be found at county and neighborhood celebrations, commemorations and memorials, as well as local community and school outreach. While music is our Marines’ primary duty, musicians have served in warfighting and support roles throughout the Corps’ history and maintain their mandate of readiness as Riflemen. Members of the Quantico Band, supporting the Task Force National Capitol Region, last deployed to conduct combat operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008.
