How Social Media Creates a Modern-Day "Scarlet Letter"

Social media networks can be a great place for friends and classmates to post photos, share links and stay in touch. However, away from the eyes of teachers and parents, social media networks have also turned into a place where bullies can cause more damage than ever. One form this bullying takes is posting sexually explicit photos of female friends or peers on sites like Facebook, for everyone to see. This so-called "slut-shaming" is intended to embarrass a girl for her sexual conduct, and can make her life difficult at school. Temitayo of Radio Rookies tackled the issue by talking to victims and victimizers in her community.
