Undocumented Student Looks to DACA for Hope

Dani, a student at Pflugerville High School in Pflugerville, Texas, is one of the many undocumented immigrants who was brought to the U.S. illegally by her parents as a child. While in the past her undocumented status would have prevented her from going to college or seeking out higher-wage work, the new Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program may change this. Ahead of the Senate's debate on comprehensive immigration reform, which starts June 10, students in the PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs program at Pflugerville High School produced this video on how the DACA might affect Dani and the other undocumented students around the country. http://vimeo.com/67224737#
