Young Syrian Refugees Face Tough Conditions in Jordan's Zaatari Camp

Life is tough at the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan. This expanse of desert, which was not populated a year ago, is now home to over 120,000 Syrians fleeing the civil war in their home country, and becoming more populated by the day. Children make up roughly half of the camp's population, making quality food and educational resources even more important. The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has been working in the Zaatari camp to provide rations like bread, lentils, sugar and salt. To see how young people are living under these difficult circumstances, check out this slideshow of images captured by WFP aid workers at the camp. For more on Zaatari and the children living, watch this PBS NewsHour report from the camp.
