WHAT STUDENTS CAN DO

  • Write a letter to your school's sports department or local school board to urge them to consider how they are supporting equitable access to youth athletes in a sport they have not been traditionally represented in.
  • Create a similar profile of an athlete in your school community to highlight and share their experiences with feeling supported. (This activity might spotlight other examples of inequity, yet to be covered).
  • Research organizations offering mentorship programs and coordinate ways to make the service known in your community. (Ex: Global Sports Mentoring Program; TEAM Inc.; SG United Foundation; Mentoring Through Athletics).
