With the Republican National Convention set to begin next week in Cleveland, Ohio, much attention is focused on who the candidates will choose as their vice presidential running mates.
Both Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton have been campaigning almost constantly in recent weeks and using the time to try out different potential running mates on the campaign trail.
The list of potential picks is long for both candidates. While Trump has appeared with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Clinton has brought Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren along on campaign stops and will appear with Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine on Thursday.
“I think sometimes more important than anything else is the rapport,” said Amy Walter of the Cook Political Report. “It’s even more important in this day and age, where they’re going to be together and shot at every single angle, live-streamed, Snapchatted, on television together.”
