A coalition led by the U.S. military continued the air strike in Libya launching a dozen more cruise missiles with the hopes of imposing a no-fly zone and stopping Moammar Gadhafi's forces from attacking civilians. Currently on a Latin American tour, President Barack Obama commented from Chile, that the U.S. would turn over leadership of the operation to allied nations within days. Two reports from Independent Television News detail the carnage and chaos in the northern Libyan cities of Tripoli and Benghazi. Throughout the region, Gadhafi's forces are still reported to be gaining power. While no fresh footage has emerged from there in a few days residents claim Gadhafi's troops are using civilians as human shields and firing on unarmed civilians, too, and this despite government affirmations that it's sticking to the cease-fire.
Coalition warplanes will right now be readying for their third night of raids on Libya. Gadhafi himself has not been seen or heard from since just before those strikes began. With the death toll rising daily from this civil war, even if Libyans win their independence, they would have paid and awful price.
