Syrian Violence Spills Over Borders

A warning to teachers: This video contains disturbing images. This week, the conflict in Syria spread as plans for a cease-fire, a temporary stoppage of war, appeared close to collapsing. Syrian soldiers fired at refugees across the Turkish border, and, in Lebanon, a television cameraman was reportedly shot and killed. "Nobody knows why Syrian appear to have fired into a Turkish refugee camp, but at least one person died, several more injured," said Alex Thomson of Independent Television News. All signs that the coming cease-fire will be honored seem to be fading fast. Turkey's saying she's actively considering all options, up to and including sending her troops into Syria to set up more effective paths for civilians who need to get out.
