Trump attacks media while Clinton and Sanders fight for California

Essential question

What is the media’s role in presidential elections?

At Donald Trump’s press conference on Tuesday, he defended his efforts to raise millions of dollars for military veterans. The expected GOP nominee then proceeded to attack the media for their inquiries, making personal jabs at reporters.

Trump skipped a Republican debate in the fall to hold a fundraiser for veterans which he said raised about six million dollars. Until Tuesday, Trump had not answered reporters’ questions about which groups had received the donations. Forty veterans’ organizations had received contributions, Trump said.

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders will battle it out in California’s primary on June 7. Clinton picked up California Gov. Jerry Brown’s endorsement and is 71 delegates away from clinching the nomination.
