The Case:
Chuck Amhrein thinks he might have a piece of the famous Hollywood Sign. Chuck took his children on a hike to the sign in the late 1970’s. Back then the land was open to the public. There were no security cameras or high fences. In fact the area was unkempt, strewn with trash. So when Chuck noticed a large piece of metal about 50 feet in front of the sign he didn’t think much of it. Still, on a hunch, he trekked down into the valley and grabbed it.
Now, almost 40 years later, he asks History Detectives host Eduardo Pagán to find out whether this metal bar belonged to the original Hollywood Sign.
