Composed for beginning string orchestra, Melody on Two Notes was completed sometime in the mid 1960's. There was a possible rehearsal performance during the composer's lifetime. The first known public performance was by the Danbury Community Orchestra, Danbury Connecticut in 1987. Melody on Two Notes was not listed in the catalog of works prepared by the composer in the mid 1960's. It was released posthumously.
