Scottish Suite

Composed for orchestra, the Scottish Suite has four movements:

1. Bonnie Dundee, which was completed July 25, 1954;

2. Turn Ye To Me, which was completed for recording on June 13, 1954

3. The Bluebells of Scotland, which was completed for recording on June 25, 1954

4. The Campbells Are Coming, which was completed June 25, 1954. Bonnie Dundee is 2 minutes and 25 seconds long. Turn Ye to Me is 3 minutes and 10 seconds long. The Bluebells of Scotland is 2 minutes and 10 seconds long.

Turn Ye To Me was first performed when recorded by the composer on June 2, 1954, in analog mono sound. The Bluebells of Scotland was first performed when recorded by the composer on June 25, 1954, in analog mono sound. Bonnie Dundee and The Campbells Are Coming were first performed when the entire suite was first performed on July 31, 1954 by the Cleveland Summer Orchestra, the composer conducting.

The Scottish Suite was also performed December 31, 1954 at the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the composer conducting and on July 10, 1955 with the University of Miami Summer Symphony Orchestra at a Miami Beach Pops Concert with the composer conducting.

The Scottish Suite was withdrawn by the composer and only two movements were published. Turn Ye To Me was published only as a piano solo arranged by the composer. The Bluebells of Scotland was published for orchestra with band and piano solo arrangements by the composer.
