Pleasant English/Southern Respondents
These results are meant to give you a sense of how others involved in social science research rated dialect areas of the United States for pleasantness. These results do not provide a direct comparison but are meant to give you a sense of how we view each other. This map shows how people from the South (principally Alabama and Georgia ) rated areas for the PLEASANTNESS of their English. The map reflects average scores taken from a large number of respondents, so you will not find extreme scores at either end of the scale.
