ALICE report shows families were struggling before COVID-19

United Way’s latest report found that a single adult in New Jersey needs to make roughly $30,000, and a family of four more than $88,000, to survive. United Way says in 2018, 27% of New Jersey households were ALICE, or asset limited, income constrained and employed. Another 14% were on the cusp.
