Newark enacts 9 p.m. curfew to stop rapid COVID-19 spread

A 9 p.m. curfew to stop the rapid spread of COVID-19 in Newark takes effect Thursday in the city’s north and east sections, including the Ironbound. A new executive order from Gov. Phil Murphy⁩ gives all local governments the power to regulate non-essential business operating hours after 8 p.m.
