Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonin Scalia, who passed away last week at the age of 79, was known for his colorful language in his written opinions and dissents from the bench. His most important majority opinion may have been in the 2008 case District of Columbia v. Heller, which ruled that banning handguns violates the Second Amendment.
