On January 8, 2011, an armed gunman opened fired at a "Congress on Your Corner" event in Tucson, Arizona. Six people were killed and 13 others were injured including U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. This week, Giffords was at the White House as President Obama announced new executive action to curb gun violence.
