This Week on Washington Week: Deal or No Deal and Biden’s Trip Abroad
Airs Friday, October 29, 2021 at 8PM on WETA PBS
On Thursday, President Biden addressed the country to detail the framework his $1.75 trillion infrastructure and social policy plan. The speech followed a visit to Capitol Hill to push Democrats to sign off on his agenda and the bipartisan infrastructure bill. With his legislative efforts hanging in the balance, the Washington Week panel will discuss the challenges the president faces getting agreement within his party on paying for the bill, and whether he can get progressives and moderates on board with plans.
President Biden flies to Europe this afternoon for his second foreign trip since taking office. The flight was delayed this morning so he could meet with Democrats on the Hill and address the nation. He is scheduled to meet Pope Francis in Rome and deliver a key speech on climate to the COP26 conference in Glasgow.
