This week, Washington Week will air its hour-long election special, with the first half hour covering the breaking news from the campaign trail and the second half hour putting a spotlight on one of the key swing states in the 2020 contest.

This week's discussion comes at a critical time as both nominees are barnstorming the country, bringing their closing arguments to battlegrounds as the clock counts down to November 3rd.  Is the Sun Belt, including Arizona, increasingly in play? What about the industrial Midwest? And what matters most to voters? Is it the pandemic or the economy?

In the second half-hour, moderator and managing editor Robert Costa takes the audience on a road trip through Pennsylvania, one of the states that swung toward President Trump in 2016. The visit follows on his journey across the state four years ago, and his reporting once again engages voters from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia.

Joining Robert for insight and analysis as the election nears:

  • Kristen Welker, White House Correspondent for NBC News, Co-Anchor of Weekend Today, and moderator of the final presidential debate
  • Dan Balz, Chief Correspondent for The Washington Post
  • Yamiche Alcindor, White House Correspondent for The PBS NewsHour
