This Week on Washington Week: President Biden Addresses a Joint Session of Congress
“Madame Speaker. Madame Vice President. No president has ever said those words and it’s about time.” President Joe Biden marked the historic moment with two of the most powerful women in the United States, Vice President Kamala Harris and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi standing on the podium behind him as he started his first address to a joint session of Congress Wednesday. He went on to lay out an ambitious agenda for his term with sweeping proposals and a staggering price tag.
This Friday, Washington Week will discuss the first 100 days of the Biden administration— the promises made on the campaign trail and in the early days in office. And we’ll examine how some goals like vaccine rollout have hit their targets, while other promises may have fallen short, and the challenges ahead in turning big ideas into reality.

The conversation continues on the Washington Week Extra, streaming live on Facebook, YouTube and our website at 8:30PM.
