This Week on Washington Week: President Biden Holds First Press Conference Amid Several Crises
President Biden is scheduled to give his first press conference since taking office this afternoon. While he is expected to tout his achievements against the pandemic in his first 100 days in office, he is plagued by events beyond his control—the humanitarian crisis of processing migrants at the border and two mass shootings in the last two weeks. He is putting Vice President Kamala Harris in charge of oversight of the border situation, and has called on Congress to enact tougher gun laws, but can lawmakers agree on legislation to be put in place to address either problem?
