The PBS documentary series was honored as ‘Best Ongoing Documentary Series.’

Today, the Critics Choice Association and NPACT, a trade organization serving producers of nonfiction entertainment content, announced the winners of the third annual Critics’ Choice Real TV Awards, honoring FRONTLINE with the 2021 award for Best Ongoing Documentary Series.

The Critics Choice Real TV Awards recognize “excellence in nonfiction, unscripted and reality programming across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms,” the announcement said. This is FRONTLINE’s second Critics Choice Real TV Award.

“We are thrilled to be honored with the Critics’ Choice Real TV Award for Best Ongoing Documentary Series,” said Raney Aronson-Rath, FRONTLINE’s executive producer. “We share this award with our brave journalists, editorial partners, and with GBH, PBS and CPB — whose steadfast support allows FRONTLINE to report on the most critical stories of our time.”

The Critics Choice Association “is the largest critics organization in the United States and Canada, representing close to 500 television, radio and online critics,” the announcement of this year’s award winners said.
