What to Expect from World on Fire
World on Fire is an adrenalized, emotionally gripping, and resonant World War II drama that follows the intertwining fates of ordinary people in multiple countries as they grapple with the effects of war on their everyday lives.
The international cast features Lesley Manville (The Crown, Magpie Murders) as Robina, Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid, Little Women), as Harry, Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners, A Very English Scandal) as Stan, Julia Brown (Shetland, Anthony) as Lois, Zofia Wichłacz (Receptura, Spoor) as Kasia, Parker Sawyers (Monsoon, A Discovery of Witches) as Albert, and Eugénie Derouand (The Advent Calendar, Paris Police) as Henriette.
Cast members joining for Season 2 include: Mark Bonnar (Guilt, Shetland), Gregg Sulkin (Runaways, Pretty Smart), Ahad Raza Mir (Resident Evil, Hum Tum) and Miriam Schiweck (Der Staatsanwalk, Fellweckselzeit).
World on Fire Season 2 follows intrepid young heroes fighting for freedom, and transports the audience from the war-torn streets of Britain deep into Nazi Germany, the resistance within occupied France, and the brutal sands of the North African desert.
The New York Times called World on Fire Season 1 as “a page-turner of a show,” and has put Season 2 on its “Shows to Watch this Fall” list. The Guardian (UK) praised Season 2 as “totally gripping,” with “an immaculate grasp of tension and character.”
