- Tristan has taken on a lot more responsibility, training new recruits, - The drama over the sinking of the Repulse.
- Quite an emotional rollercoaster.
Edward survived, but he's injured.
- Such a huge shock and relief.
Siegfried is just about holding everything together.
At the beginning of Series 6, it's three years later.
- We pick up early May of 1945.
- So the war is now very nearly over.
- Little Jimmy is now four and a half years old.
- They're now a family of four.
Little Rosie's arrived.
- So the family has grown in this interim time.
- James is pretty busy as a vet now 'cause he is a partner in the practice.
- Siegfried has become a much more trying, challenging character than he ever has been before.
- The practice is a state.
I'm not sure he's remembering to charge half our clients.
Siegfried!
- You don't need to trouble me with every little thing.
- He's not in a good place at the beginning of Series 6.
- [Tristan] The old goat's lost his marbles.
- What?
- No, you're right.
It's a completely normal state of affairs.
- Goodness, me.
- For Mrs. Hall, her biggest challenge is gonna be Mr. Farnon.
- James!

- He's ruffled quite a few feathers in town.
(laughs) - I have my ways.
I do them because they work.
- [James] Brush her down, Jimmy.
- Little Jimmy assisting his dad.
- Ready for duty.
- It's brilliant.
- Tristan does go on a bit of a journey.
He finds new love this series.
- The war has made a big difference.
- We did want to get back to what the show is really about, which is people and doing nice things for animals.
- At the heart of it is this family.
