(inspirational music) - Wow, there's so much going on in season two.
It's a completely new chapter.
- We have quite an emotionally driven storyline.
James has a dilemma between staying in the Dales or heading back to Glasgow for work.
I have to work out if there's something here worth staying for.
- Or someone?
- Helen.
- Helen and James care about each other an incredible amount.
What they have is very, very special.
- [James] Would you like to dance?
- There seems to be love in the air for a lot of people.
And it's exciting to think that there are new paths ahead.
- Tristan carries on having fun, not letting things get him down too much, other than more responsibility.
- [Siegfried] What you're doing?
- Doing, nothing.
- Sounds about right.
Although still deeply annoying to Siegfried on all sorts of levels, Tristan's grown up.
And I think Siegfried's beginning to realize that.
- We get to see these characters develop personally, professionally, with some wonderful stories.
And it's just brilliant.
- I have the fortitude to deal with the caseload in your absence.
Lesser men would have failed.
- Tell the truth you missed him, didn't you?
- Filming in Yorkshire, you're taken in by the beauty of those incredible landscapes.
And then the animals that we film are quite remarkable to work with and a major character in the show.
- Try not to startle it.
(pig snorting) - What's lovely about our adaptation is we're really getting to see these three-dimensional women and just how strong they are.
It sounds like you've gone soft.
- It's a sure business with wonderful balance of comedy, light heartedness, along with poignancy, drama and really touching moments.
- I love it here, the work, the people.
- I suppose we all end up where we belong, eventually.
- There's such a warmth and a humanity to it that I think anyone would be completely enchanted by it and want to keep watching.
- Last night for the first time I felt like myself again, and it was only because of you.
