(uplifting music) - James.
- I've come home.
(Helen gasps) - Five things to love about Season 5.
The animals, some returning and some new.
- We have a new dog called Hamish.
- Speak.
(Hamish barks) - Some amazing new species we haven't worked with before.
- There's so many gorgeous baby Jimmy moments.
- [James] Hello there wee man.
- It's amazing having a baby in the house.
It lightens life for everybody.
(Jimmy coos) - What Jimmy represents is hope.
- It's that curiosity.
James will see the world anew through the eyes of a baby.
- [Samuel] We've got the return of Tristan.
- (laughing) I gave him a rather long hug.
I think he was a bit surprised.
- But the show's missed Tristan and now he's back and it's been an absolute treat.
- It's great fun for Helen to have Tristan back.
- Uncle Tristan, happy to be of service.
- Tristan is really enjoying being back.
He sort of settles into his own ways back in Skeldale quite quickly.
More arguments between Tristan and Siegfried.
Good banter between James and Tristan.
- The famous Tristan Farnon.
- My replacement.
We meet at last.
- Technically I was James' replacement.
- They can't quite understand each other at first.
- They are just either end of the spectrum completely.
- And that brings a whole really fun and interesting dynamic.
- [Tristan] He told me he'd hired a new assistant.
He neglected to tell me he was now sleeping in my bed.
- But it's "All Creatures Great and Small" so it doesn't stay that way for too long.
- To things that never changed.
(glasses clinking) - Something unique about Season 5 particularly is the time period, so we're in 1941.
- [Siegfried] We all have to try and do our bit.
- Black out curtains are pulled, food is less, but there's still very much the community spirit.
We see people coming together even more.
- I wish to volunteer to be a blackout warden.
- This season does feel, at times, incredibly epic.
- You have these lovely touching emotional moments and then on a dime we can turn it and you're laughing out loud at something very funny or lighthearted.
It's just brilliant.
